Brain Wise Team Bio

Brian K Semsem Sr.

Anago Consulting Inc., is an organization specializing in Neuro-Informed Professional Training and Performance consulting . Brian has lived and served communities in the central valley for over 30 years.

Brian also serves as the Director of Recreational Resilience Programs for Every Neighborhood Partnership (ENP) a local non-profit organization providing out-of-school time recreational programming throughout the Fresno / Clovis area. Brian has over 20 years of experience working with youth and families in under resourced communities in a variety of settings including substance abuse treatment, foster care, group homes and faith-based setting as a youth leader and lead pastor.

Brian’s journey of Neuro-Informed training and development started in 2013 when as a pastor he had to help two families navigate through some very difficult childhood traumatic events. Since that time Brian has sought to learn everything he could about early childhood trauma and how neuroscience can help in the healing process. Brian has participated in over 250 hours of training in Trauma informed Care and Social Emotional Learning practices.

Most recently Brian has become a Certified Trainer for the Community Resilience Initiative (CRI) Trauma Informed Certification Program. CRI was a strategic partner in the groundbreaking work around the Trauma-Informed School movement spearheaded Jim Sporleder, Principal of Lincoln High School in Walla Walla, WA. The work at Lincoln High School gained national attention due to a dramatic drop in out of school suspensions, increased graduation rates and the number of students going on to post-secondary education. Lincoln High School’s story was told through the documentary film, Paper Tigers.

Brian is also a Certified Facilitator for Reconnecting Youth‘s Coping and Support Training (CAST) program which is a school-based group counseling program for at-risk youth that has demonstrated decreased suicide risk factors and reduced alcohol and hard drug use in adolescents.

Brian has provided Trauma-Informed work-shops, training’s and professional development for Fresno State’s Social Work Department, Fresno Pacific University’s Teacher Education Program, Clovis Unified School District, Fresno County Department of Public Health, Central Valley Christian Alliance for Orphans, the Fresno County Trauma & Resilience Network and Fresno EPU Children’s Center.
